Officially it takes 2 months to never for a Pakistani visa. Your nationality certainly plays an important role; it could make it easy or a lot harder than usual.

So here’s what I had to do!

1. Get an official stamped letter from any offices in Pakistan. You can ask any of your Pakistani friend from anywhere in the world to arrange someone in Pakistan to do it for you. Below is the letter for your reference. It costs 1USD. Some cases they would ask for the original, in my case, they didn’t need an original. To get the stamped letter takes about 5 minutes.

Your friend must explicitly mention that he/she invites you to Pakistan and will be fully responsible during your stay in Pakistan.

2. A copy of your friend’s NIC (National Identity Card) from both sides

3. Fill the application form (Apply as Visit Family/Friend. NOT TOURISM)

4. Passport copy

5. Iqama Copy

6. 2 Passport Photo

7. Original employment letter authenticated by Chamber of Commerce

8. An interview by the consul which is part of the visa process.

Visa Fee: Varies upon nationalities. I paid 158 SAR/single entry. It could go up to 5,000 SAR for Americans

Extra notes:  Chances of approval for a solo female is pretty slim, the consul suggests to apply with a friend or a group for safety reasons. I’m glad he approved my visa on the spot! We had a nice chat 😀

Personal Experience: I asked a friend of mine to get the letter, he sent me a photo the next morning. I also had a friend who knew someone in the consulate that had given a good word about me as a travel blogger to the consul. This certainly helped A LOT!

I went there with only iqama copy, passport copy, and a photo of the invitation letter. The consult interviewed me and we had a nice chat. He approved my visa on the spot for 15 days.
